Climbing

for the Children
of Chornobyl
Main Objective:

Climb to the peak of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest in Africa. It stands at an imposing 19335.6 feet (5895 meters). Its ascent requires altitude acclimatization and does not necessitate any special alpinist climbing equipment. Many access trails, varying in degrees of difficulty, lead to the summit: Marangu, Machame, Mweka and Umbwe are the most popular routes. The goal will be fulfilled in 7 days, 6 nights, and will cover a total 50 miles (80 kilometers).

Humanitarian Objectives:

Collect $19335.60 sponsorship - one dollar per foot of Mt Kilimanjaro's altitude.
All amounts raised by Viviane, will be donated to the Children's Wish Foundation. Funds gathered by Bohdana, will be offered to the Children of Chornobyl's Canadian Fund. The foundations will be issuing receipts for every donation over $15 upon request.

Team Objective:

We consider ourselves a team and we support each other mutually for the 2 humanitarian causes. We are both committed, individually and as a team, to carrying both flags of these 2 causes all the way to the summit.

We participate for:

  • the adventure
  • the love for extreme sports
  • the challenge
  • the fun
  • the children
